Occupational Health and Safety Practices
Occupational Health and Safety Practices Image

Ensuring the wellbeing of our workers is paramount and we are unwavering in our dedication to safety. We firmly believe that a safety-first approach not only boosts employee morale but also enhances productivity, fostering a secure working environment. We have consistently implemented safety measures to mitigate risks during emergencies and to minimise the likelihood of viral outbreaks or other natural incidents occurring in our vicinity:

From the moment of induction, our employees receive thorough guidance on health and safety protocols relevant to their specific departments, in addition to a general introduction to health and safety practices.

To maintain a secure working environment, our supervisory staff members are responsible for conducting regular safety checks throughout the day, ensuring that safety protocols are adhered to consistently.

To combat the risk of mosquito-borne diseases, every Multilac establishment including stores, production sites and factories, undergoes routine pest control and fumigation. Within our factory, a dedicated Company Dengue Taskforce oversees each section. Additionally, specific time slots are designated every Monday and Thursday from 8. 00 am to 8.30 pm pm for thorough cleaning and mosquito prevention efforts. Furthermore, we offer paid leave to employees affected by dengue, emphasizing our commitment to their well-being.

Recognising the profound impact that COVID-19 can have on an individual’s physical and emotional well-being, we are steadfast in our commitment to safeguard our team members by implementing essential preventive measures and providing crucial vaccinations.

Within our premises, we maintain a fully-equipped medical center staffed by a certified and experienced Nursing Officer. This dedicated healthcare professional assists with any medical needs and administers vaccinations as required.

To ensure the safety of our team, we distribute masks and sanitizing solutions to all employees, reinforcing our commitment to health and hygiene.

On an annual basis, our team participates in comprehensive first-aid and firefighting training sessions. These serve as regular refreshers, reminding everyone of the appropriate actions to take during emergencies.

We have equipped all personnel in production, Research and Development (R&D), Quality Assurance and Quality Control with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), in order to ensure their safety during work.

Throughout our factory premises and within each department, we prominently display health and safety guidelines. These visual aids serve as constant reminders of best practices to maintain a safe environment.

In addition to our internal safety measures, we extend our concerns to the households residing around our factory. Each department is guided on the proper and safe handling of chemicals to minimise any potential impact on the neighbouring community.
