Suba Pala Litha for Avurudu celebration
Suba Pala Litha for Avurudu celebration Image

In April 2023, Multilac showcased its commitment to sustainability and community engagement through the innovative CSR project known as “Suba Pala Litha” for the Avurudu celebration. This initiative was not only a festive promotion but also a testament to Multilac’s dedication to blending cultural traditions with meaningful community involvement.

The Suba Pala Litha campaign was designed to enhance the Avurudu season, a time of cultural significance and celebration in Sri Lanka. As part of this promotion, Multilac provided consumers with a unique calendar that displayed auspicious times for various Avurudu rituals and events. This calendar was intended to be hung on walls, offering both practical information and a decorative touch for the festive season. By integrating this element into their CSR activities, Multilac aligned their brand with a culturally important occasion, demonstrating respect for local traditions and adding value to the consumer experience.

What set the Suba Pala Litha campaign apart was its interactive component aimed at engaging children in a creative way. Each calendar featured a sun graphic that children were encouraged to paint and submit. This aspect of the project not only added a fun, artistic element to the celebration but also fostered a sense of involvement and excitement among young participants. The act of painting and contributing to the campaign allowed children to express their creativity and connect with the festival on a personal level.

The project culminated in a competitive selection process where Multilac chose three outstanding entries from the submitted artwork. These winners were awarded a special prize that extended beyond mere recognition: Multilac committed to professionally colour washing their homes in their chosen Multilac paint colours. This generous gesture provided the winners with a tangible benefit, transforming their living spaces with high-quality paint and reinforcing the company’s commitment to community support.

Through the Suba Pala Litha campaign, Multilac effectively combined cultural celebration with community engagement. By offering both a culturally relevant promotion and an opportunity for children to participate in a creative activity, Multilac reinforced its role as a responsible corporate entity that is dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals and fostering a sense of community during significant cultural events.
