1. Surface Condition
- The surface must be:
- Clean – Free from dust, grease, oil, wax, and loose particles.
- Dry – No moisture or damp spots.
- Smooth – A flat surface is essential for effective chalk writing and easy cleaning.
2. Preparation by Surface Type
- Wood, MDF, or Hardboard:
- Sand with fine-grit sandpaper (220–320) for a smooth finish.
- Fill any holes or gaps with Multilac Wood Putty.
- Sand again to level the surface.
- Apply Multilac NC Wood Primer or Multilac Wood Sealer for a sealed base.
- Let it dry and sand lightly again before painting.
- Plaster or Cement Walls:
- Ensure the surface is fully cured (minimum 28 days) if newly plastered.
- Remove loose particles with a brush or vacuum.
- Fill cracks or dents with suitable wall filler and sand smooth.
- Apply Multilac Water-Based Wall Primer or Acrylic Sealer to prepare the surface.
- Allow it to dry completely.
- Previously Painted Surfaces:
- Lightly sand glossy or smooth finishes to dull the surface.
- Clean thoroughly to remove any chalk residue or dirt.
- Ensure the surface is stable and not flaking.
3. Final Cleaning
- Wipe the prepared surface with a dry, lint-free or tack cloth to remove fine dust.
- Avoid water just before painting.
4. Ready for Painting
- Once the surface is:
- Dry
- Smooth
- Dust-free
- You can apply Multilac Green Board Paint using a good-quality brush, roller, or spray for best results.
