Multilac Weather Guard Flexible Elastomeric Wall Primer

Is a durable exterior wall primer designed to address the unique needs of exterior masonry with surface imperfections such as cracks. Temperature fluctuations, vibrations, rain, and sunlight can all cause walls to crack over time. This flexible elastomeric primer features exceptional elongation and recovery properties, effectively sealing surface cracks and preventing water penetration. Reducing water seepage, it helps prolong the life of your walls. Additionally, it improves the appearance of the top coat and reduces the consumption of top coat emulsion by at least 30%. It is a durable exterior wall primer designed to address the unique needs of exterior masonry with surface imperfections such as cracks. Temperature fluctuations, vibrations, rain, and sunlight can all cause walls to crack over time. This flexible elastomeric primer features exceptional elongation and recovery properties, effectively sealing surface cracks and preventing water penetration. Exterior masonry walls, Areas prone to cracking or movement, and walls requiring waterproofing.

1. Surface Suitability

Ideal for exterior cement plaster, concrete, brickwork, masonry, asbestos cement surfaces, and previously painted walls.
Recommended as a base coat for elastomeric coatings like Weather Guard Ultra or Super Matt.

2. Initial Surface Cleaning

Remove all loose dust, dirt, grease, algae, moss, mildew, and efflorescence.
Use:
- A wire brush or scraper
- A pressure washer for better results on rough or dirty surfaces

3. Fungus and Algae Treatment

If biological growth is present:
Wash affected areas with a fungicidal wash or a bleach solution (1 part bleach to 3 parts water) (can be used Multilac Disinfecting wall wash).
Leave for 2–4 hours, scrub thoroughly, rinse with clean water
Let the surface dry completely

4. Repair Surface Defects

Fill cracks (especially hairline or static cracks) with:
Multilac Acrylic Crack Filler or exterior-grade putty.
Fill holes, dents, or undulations with cement-based filler or a flexible wall putty as appropriate.
Sand smooth and dust off.

5. Ensure Surface Dryness

Ensure walls are completely dry and cured before application.
Newly plastered surfaces must be cured for at least 28 days.

6. Surface Condition Check

Surface must be:
- Stable
  - Free from chalkiness
  - Free from loose paint, dust, or powdery residues
- Moisture Check
  - Recommended wall moisture content: below 12%
  - Do not apply if moisture or dampness is evident (e.g., rising damp or leakage)

7. Application of Multilac Weather Guard Flexible Elastomeric Wall Primer

Stir well before and during use
Apply 1 liberal coat using a brush, roller, or spray
Drying time: Touch dry in 1–2 hours, recoatable after 4–6 hours
Coverage: Approx. 80–100 sq.ft per liter, depending on surface porosity and texture
Do not think unless advised by the manufacturer
