- Wood, metal, and masonry surfaces.
1. Cleaning the Surface
- Remove all dirt, grease, oil, wax, dust, and loose particles using:
- Mild detergent solution or degreaser.
- Clean water rinse.
- Allow the surface to dry completely.
2. Surface Preparation by Substrate
- Wood (Bare or New):
- Sand smooth with 180–220 grit sandpaper.
- Wipe off all dust.
- Fill cracks/holes with suitable wood filler, then sand smooth again.
- Apply a coat of Multilac Aluminium Wood Primer or Multilac White Wood Primer and let it dry completely.
- Metal (Mild Steel):
- Remove rust, scale, and old paint by wire brushing, sanding, or blasting.
- Degrease the surface completely.
- Apply Multilac Red Oxide Primer or Zinc Phosphate Primer and allow it to dry thoroughly.
- Masonry (Plastered walls, etc.):
- Surface must be cured (minimum 28 days).
- Remove dust and loose particles.
- Apply Multilac Alkali Resistant Primer before enamel paint if used on interior cement surfaces.
3. Priming & Drying
- All primers must be completely dry (typically 8–12 hours) before applying enamel paint.
- Lightly sand the primed surface for better enamel adhesion.
4. Ready for Painting
- Stir paint well before and during application.
- Apply with a brush, roller, or spray gun.
- Ensure good ventilation and ideal temperature (>10°C and <85% RH).
