1. Clean the Surface
- Make sure the surface is dry, clean, and free from dust, dirt, grease, fungus, algae, or loose particles.
- For exterior walls, wash down with clean water and allow to dry.
- If mold or algae is present, treat with a fungicidal wash.
2. Remove Loose Paint & Debris
- Scrape off loose, flaking, or peeling paint with a scraper or wire brush.
- Sand previously painted surfaces with medium-grit sandpaper to create a uniform base.
3. Repair Damaged Areas
- Fill cracks, dents, and holes with Multilac Wall Filler/Putty (or suitable filler).
- Allow filler to dry completely, then sand smooth.
4. Smooth the Surface
- Sand the surface evenly to achieve a smooth, consistent texture.
- Wipe away sanding dust with a brush or cloth.
5. Apply Primer/Sealer (If Required)
- On bare plaster, cement, or masonry, apply a suitable Multilac Water-Based Primer/Sealer.
- This helps paint adhesion, prevents peeling, and ensures an even finish.
- Allow primer to dry fully before painting.
6. Ensure Dryness
- The wall must be completely dry (moisture content below 15%).
- Avoid painting on damp or freshly plastered surfaces.
