1. Inspect the Surface
- Ensure the roof is dry, clean, and structurally sound.
- Surfaces must be free from dust, moss, mildew, grease, and old flaky paint.
2. Cleaning the Roof
- Pressure wash or scrub to remove dirt, algae, fungus, and loose material.
- Treat with Multilac Fungicidal Wash if mold or mildew is present.
- Allow the surface to dry completely (moisture < 6%).
3. Surface Repairs
- Fill cracks or damaged areas with Multilac Acrylic Roof Waterproofing Filler or a suitable patching compound. (should not fill with water-based filler, so need to treat with solvent base filler or primer).
- Sand smooth if needed, and allow proper curing time.
4. Priming (Based on Roof Type)
- Roof Type Recommended Primer
- Concrete/Asbestos Multilac Acrylic Roof Primer or Multilac Speed Primer (not suitable for asbestos sheets, for concrete surfaces, can be applied without primer application).
- Metal Sheets Multilac Metal Primer (anti-corrosive).
- Clay Tiles Multilac 3-in-1 Speed Primer (if porous or powdery).
- Allow primer to dry thoroughly as per the product instructions (typically 6–8 hours).
5. Weather Conditions
- Do not apply when rain is expected within 24 hours or in extreme heat.
- Ideal application temperature: 25–35°C.
