- Interior walls (bringing a glamorous metallic sheen).
- Wood panels, ceiling sheets.
- Pottery and ceramic objects.
- Gypsum board, statues, banners.
- Fabric surfaces.
Step 1: Cleaning & Levelling
- Remove all dust, dirt, grease, moss, and loose particles from the surface.
- If the wall has old/flaking paint → scrape or sandpaper it down to a smooth surface.
- If there are cracks or holes → fill with suitable wall filler/putty (ideally Multilac Wall Filler).
Step 2: Priming
- Apply 1 coat of Multilac Platinum Emulsion Undercoat / Primer.
- This helps adhesion, durability, and gives a uniform base colour.
- Let the primer dry for at least 6 hours.
Step 3: Basecoat (Essential for Metallic Finish)
- Apply 2 coats of Multilac Platinum Omnis Emulsion (in a recommended base shade — usually white, pearl, or a matching undertone for gold/silver).
- Allow each coat to dry for 4–6 hours.
- The basecoat provides the reflective background needed for the sparkling designer coat to pop.
Step 4: Application Surface Preparation
- Lightly sand with very fine sandpaper after the basecoat is fully dry.
- This removes dust nibs and ensures a smooth canvas for the metallic topcoat.
- Wipe with a clean, damp cloth to remove sanding dust.
Step 5: Final Coat (Sparkling Designer – Silver/Gold)
- Apply the Platinum Sparkling Designer coat:
- Use a dampened roller (or effect tool if a textured designer finish is desired).
- Apply in 4 ft × 4 ft sections, maintaining a wet edge to avoid overlaps.
- For decorative effects, use special tools (sponges, brushes, combs, etc.) while the paint is still wet.
