1. Clean the Surface
- Ensure the surface is dry, clean, and free from dust, dirt, grease, moss, algae, loose particles, or any other contaminants.
- For roofs or exterior areas, scrub with a stiff brush and wash down with clean water.
- Remove any fungal or algae growth with a fungicidal wash.
2. Remove Loose Material
- Scrape off all loose paint, coatings, or previous waterproofing layers using a scraper or wire brush.
- The substrate should be firm and stable for proper adhesion.
3. Repair Cracks & Holes
- Fill cracks, gaps, and holes with a suitable crack filler, mortar, or cementitious repair compound.
- Allow it to cure and dry completely before applying Bitumax No Leak.
4. Smooth & Prepare Surface
- On rough concrete or masonry, lightly smooth with sandpaper or a wire brush.
- For metal surfaces, remove rust and corrosion with a wire brush or sandpaper. Apply a rust primer if required.
5. Ensure Dryness
- The surface must be completely dry before application.
- Moisture trapped under the coating can cause blistering or peeling.
