- Plastic, metal & wooden surfaces.
1. Clean the Surface
- Surfaces to be bonded must be clean, dry, and free from dust, dirt, grease, oil, wax, rust, or any contaminants.
- Wipe oily/greasy areas with a solvent like acetone or thinner for best adhesion.
2. Remove Loose or Weak Material
- Scrape off loose paint, coatings, or corroded material.
- Ensure the substrate is solid and stable before bonding.
3. Roughen Smooth Surfaces
- For glossy or very smooth surfaces (metal, ceramic, glass, etc.), lightly sand or roughen with sandpaper or emery paper.
- This creates a mechanical “key” for the epoxy to grip better.
4. Dry the Surface
- Moisture interferes with epoxy bonding. Ensure the surface is completely dry before application.
- Avoid bonding in damp or wet conditions.
5. Fit & Alignment Check
- Before mixing the adhesive, check that the parts to be joined fit properly.
- Keep clamps or supports ready if alignment needs to be held during curing.
