- Exterior Walls and Roofs.
1. Surface Suitability
- Recommended for:
- Exterior walls (plastered or concrete)
- Terraces, parapets, and ledges
- Interior damp-prone walls
- Balconies and sunshades
- Bathrooms/wet areas (under-tile)
2. Surface Cleaning
- Remove all:
- Dust, dirt, grease, oil.
- Loose/flaking paint.
- Fungus, algae, moss (if present).
- Use:
- Wire brush, broom, or pressure washer.
- A fungicidal wash for biological growth (rinse and allow to dry).
3. Repair Cracks & Defects
- Hairline cracks (<1 mm): Can be directly filled with Multilac 3-in-1.
- Wider cracks (>1 mm): Use Multilac Crack Filler or a suitable flexible sealant.
- Patch and sand any surface irregularities for a smooth base.
4. Ensure Dryness
- Surface must be completely dry and free from rising damp.
- New plaster/concrete must be cured for at least 28 days.
- Moisture content should be <12%.
5. Priming (Optional for Very Porous Surfaces)
- For highly porous or chalky surfaces:
- Apply a diluted first coat of Multilac 3-in-1 Waterproofing (1 part product: 1 part clean water).
- Acts as a primer and sealer.
- Allow to dry for 4–6 hours before applying full-strength coats.
6. Application Notes:
- Stir the product well before and during use.
- Apply 2–3 undiluted coats by brush, roller, or trowel.
- Recoating time: 4–6 hours between coats.
- Avoid application during rain or high humidity.
